Elections: Astrologers got it all wrong

The massive victory of the Congress in the last Indian elections took everyone by surprise on May 16th. So much that we totally forgot to compare the predictions of astrologers to actual results.

Doing so is plain hilarious. Because our occult friends got it completely wrong.

Famous astrologer Premij had predicted that BJP would emerge as the single largest party. He also said that the Congress would fail to obtain as many seats as in 2004. Oups. BJP won only 116 seats in the last elections, far from the 206 obtained by Congress (who, by the way, considerably improved its performance from 2004 results). What happened, Premij? You held your head upside down while reading the stars?

The tarot cards didn’t do better than the stars, though.

Tarot Card “expert” Anjana Mathur had predicted a “fractured mandate” this year. Oups again. These election results were seen as everything but a fracture mandate. And Mathur also predicted that BJP would emerge as the single largest party. Wrong. What about a new set of cards, Anjan?

So if stars and tarot cards can’t see the future properly, what about crystal balls? Hum. They don’t seem to perform very well either. Checking in hers, Gazer Neeraji had clearly seen that Manmohan Singh had very little chances to stay prime minister.

Get your eyes off your ball and check the newspaper, Gazer. Who’s that man with a white beard? Yep, it’s Manmohan. And he is still prime minister.

Can’t decide if this is more funny than pathetic of the opposite.
