Eclipse issues

Early this morning somewhere over Northern India and China, the longest total solar eclipse of this century took place. Many pictures from the event show spectators wearing eclipse glasses, but according to Jay M. Pasachoff, a Williams College astronomer, these glasses are often misused. While communities no longer lock up their children as during previous eclipses for fear that they would become blind from the eclipse, these glasses allow only 1/100,000 of the sunlight through to protect the eyes. As Mr. Pasachoff describes, however, these glasses shouldn’t be used throughout an entire eclipse because they will not allow you to see the full brightness of the moon.

Although the eclipse last for only a little more than six and a half minutes, expert astrologers say that the effect will last for about seven years. (Not nearly long enough to hold us over until the next total solar eclipse which will not be until June 13, 2132).

This was a South Node eclipse which sheds light on un-resolved problems within friendships and marriages. The eclipse will also affect monetary systems around the world. When the eclipse reaches your planet at 29 degrees of Cancer in your astrology chart, or the Millionaire’s degree, in the upcoming months you may reach the epiphany that you’ve focused too much on the lives of others and not enough on your own.
